The Championship season concluded in manic fashion on Saturday, with consequences at both ends of the table on the final day.

Here's what happened...

Promotion

Leeds United were crowned champions in dramatic fashion after coming from behind to beat now-relegated Plymouth.

It looked as if the title would be heading to Turf Moor, with Burnley leading Millwall 2-1, only for a 91st-minute winner from Manor Solomon to seal it for Leeds.

Burnley therefore had to settle for the second automatic promotion spot.

Sheffield United and Sunderland were already assured of a place in the play-offs before the final day, and they will now be joined by Coventry City - who won 2-0 away at Middlesbrough - and Bristol City, who came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Preston.

Relegation

Cardiff City's relegation was already sealed last weekend, and Plymouth Argyle went into the final day knowing that they would also be heading back to League One barring a minor miracle.

Joining the Bluebirds and the Pilgrims in the third tier next season will be Luton Town, who become just the fourth team in history to suffer back-to-back relegations from the Premier League, and will be playing in the third tier next season after losing 5-3 at West Brom.

Hull City, Preston, Derby County and Stoke City will all be breathing a sigh of relief after securing survival on the final day.

The League One and League Two seasons will also conclude later on Saturday.
