Karlan Grant is among the people to react to Charlton confirming a new deal for Tyreece Campbell
Karlan Grant has reacted to Charlton Athletic confirming a contract extension with Tyreece Campbell.
The Addicks have tied the 22-year-old down to a new long-term contract with the club after a strong start to the new Championship campaign.
The forward came through the ranks of the London outfit’s academy system to cement himself as a regular in the first team squad.
Campbell helped Charlton gain promotion through the play-offs from League One in 2024/25, registering seven goals and one assist.
And he maintained his place as a key part of the side in their first year back in the second tier, scoring three and assisting three as the team finished 19th in the table.
The attacker has scored in each of their opening league two fixtures of the new campaign, as well as in their EFL Cup victory over Cheltenham Town.

Charlton have confirmed on Instagram that Campbell has agreed a new contract with the club, keeping him at the Valley long-term.
The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal that will run until June 2030, which is a fine reward for his promising start to the new season.
The forward scored in the EFL Cup win to open the campaign, but then goals against Derby County and West Ham ensured that Jones’ side won both of their first two league games.
The news of Campbell’s new deal has led to a positive reaction from supporters, as well as teammate Grant.
The former West Brom star replied to confirmation of the new contract with two clapping hands emojis.
Charlton fans are delighted that Campbell has tied his future to the club for the next four years.
In particular, supporters are pleased to see him turn down a potential move away amid interest from Preston North End.
Supporters are buzzing with the progress being made by the club, and this has added to the excitement around the team at the moment.
Fans have enjoyed seeing his rise from the academy system into the first team, and are pleased to see him now get wider recognition.
Charlton will return to action with a trip to face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening in a 7.45pm kick-off in the second round of the EFL Cup.

Campbell has gone from strength to strength each season at Charlton, and this new contract is a fine reward for his performances.
Tying him down to a deal until June 2030 is a positive step forward for the Addicks, who are showing that they are willing to hold onto their best players.
It would’ve been quite easy to cash in on the forward due to interest from elsewhere, but he is clearly a fan favourite, and losing him would’ve been quite the blow to Jones’ side.
