Chelsea enter the picture to sign Endrick in January | OneFootball

Chelsea have entered the frame to sign Real Madrid attacker Endrick in January, according to Cadena Ser.

They were previously interested in Endrick, but he chose a move to Spain. However, he has struggled to secure consistent playing time.

Endrick now wants a new temporary home. He was reportedly set to complete a move to Lyon, but the interest from Chelsea has sown doubts in his mind.

However, this is precisely the type of move Chelsea should be steering well clear of. Endrick has played just 11 minutes of competitive football all season.

This means he would arrive in London without rhythm, sharpness or the physical conditioning needed to contribute immediately.

The Premier League is unforgiving even for seasoned professionals.

Throwing in an untested, out-of-form teenager would be a gamble with little upside for a club that needs solutions now, not long-term projects.

Chelsea already have three capable centre-forwards in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Marc Guiu. They are integrated into the squad and understand the demands of the league.

Endrick would only congest the pathway for players who are already contributing or ready to contribute, disrupting the balance of the attack without offering improvement.

Chelsea’s priorities should also lie elsewhere. With injuries to Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, midfield reinforcements are essential.

Defensive quality is another glaring need, as the squad lacks depth and reliability at the back following Levi Colwill’s long-term injury.

Pursuing Endrick, as ‘spectacular‘ as his potential may be, makes little strategic sense when Chelsea have far more urgent gaps.

The Brazilian needs to make the right choice for himself and choose a move to Lyon, where he can get playing time and improve under less scrutiny.
