Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca at the start of the year, and has made a good start to life in the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

The 41-year-old has won eight of his 11 games, and remains unbeaten in the league with four wins and a draw, with Chelsea currently sat in fifth place.

Roberto Di Matteo praises Liam Rosenior

Chelsea have certainly looked much better from an attacking point of view under Rosenior, although defensively there is room for improvement.

The Blues have managed just three clean sheets in Rosenior’s 11 games, but have mainly been let down by individual errors.

Given Chelsea’s schedule Rosenior has had very little time to actually work on anything on the training pitch, given the main focus has been recovery.

However, Rosenior spoke of the importance of having a full week to prepare for Saturday’s game against Burnley.

Di Matteo was full of praise for the work Rosenior’s done, but warned the Englishman it’s a very high pressure job.

“I like his ideas about football,” he told Sky Sports News.

“He wants the team to dominate the ball, control the tempo, and be proactive rather than reactive.

“Chelsea fans will appreciate that if he can get the players fully on board and results start following.”

Chelsea job is high pressure

However, Di Matteo did warn the job is very high pressure, something Rosenior no doubt would have been aware of.

“It’s a big job, massive pressure at Chelsea, but he seems composed and has a clear vision,” he added.
