Liam Rosenior finally had some training time this week, and he outlined what he had done with the time with his players.

Since arriving at Chelsea in January, Liam Rosenior has had no free midweek without a game until now. We’re really excited to see how he has made it count.

His first move was to give his exhausted group four days off, something which should be really useful as they try to get back to their best ahead of another tough run to come.

It has also meant more time on the training ground this week, as the coach noted in quotes on the club’s official website today.

“I said to the players in our team meeting on Thursday morning that it was the first time we’ve had a two-day tactical lead into a game since I’ve worked with them,” Rosenior said.

“It’s been one day until now: walk out, walk through certain situations and scenarios, rest, and play. Thursday was the first opportunity for us to talk about our style and what we want to put into the game and actually work on it. The players trained really well with it.”

We don’t want to get overexcited -it’s hard to change much in a couple of days – but just the very fact that Rosenior has been able to take those meetings and start to get those ideas across is exciting for us.

We wonder if we will start to see any of the effects this afternoon?
