Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old defender Jules Kounde from Barcelona in the summer window.

Chelsea and Kounde have been linked many times before, mostly before he joined Barcelona when Chelsea were seriously trying to sign him and actually got pretty close.

And now, it looks like Kounde’s future is being questioned again by the Spanish media, and that means Chelsea are being linked with him once again too.

Chelsea in for Kounde?

According to Mundo Deportivo, an assault from the Premier League is planned for Kounde this summer. Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all shown interest in the French defender, whose future in Catalonia is becoming increasingly uncertain.

Recently, it was reported that Barcelona are open to hearing offers for Kounde.

Football Espana, who have translated this report, also suggest that a fee of around €60-70m will be what is needed to prime Kounde away from Barcelona at the end of the season, should any of the interested clubs take that forward.

In other news today…

Chelsea have already made two new signings who are arriving in the summer, one winger and one striker. Although it’s being debated that they aren’t quite the ‘Estevao level’ of signings this week.

It’s also being claimed that Chelsea will now look to sign more ‘ready-made’ stars and are even looking to tweak their transfer model a bit in the wake of the criticism received from their own player, Marc Cucurella, earlier this week.
