Tuesday means one big thing in Chelsea world – the Transfer Dealsheet from the Athletic. It is always full of established storylines, but often has some new snippets in there too to be digested.

Today’s edition is a classic of the latter form, with some valuable information about Emmanuel Emegha. The summer signing from Strasbourg was left out of the squad against Real Sociedad, leading some people to speculate about his future and whether he might be loaned out this year. However, the information here is that that’s not the case.

They say that Emegha’s absence was because of injury – he’s not back in training after picking up a hamstring issue last month.

“It has now been determined that he will be part of the squad after some uncertainty after completing his move from Strasbourg.”

That means he will compete with Joao Pedro up top, increasing the need to shift Liam Delap and Marc Guiu even more. There is not much progress on either front.

In other news…

As well as big transfer news, this week also saw big ownership news, with an exclusive from the FT claiming that Todd Boehly and Mark Walter are looking at selling their stakes in Chelsea.

Pedro Neto’s asking price has been set at £100m by Chelsea – a pretty mad number, but one in line with other deals this summer.

There are still a lot of questions about what Chelsea should do with Josh Acheampong this season – he can’t afford another year on the bench.
