Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the North West of England today for the first part of his Everton medical, according to The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland.
Everton are expected to pay £25 million for the former Leicester City star as they look to bolster their midfield options at the Hill Dickinson Stadium club.
The 26-year-old would become their fifth summer signing following earlier deals for Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou.
Dewsbury-Hall will be a direct replacement for Abdoulaye Doucoure, who left the Toffees at the end of last season after both parties could not agree to terms of an extension.
Everton were also hoping to seal a deal for Southampton attacker Tyler Dibling, but the Saints want a total package worth £50m and a 25 per cent sell-on clause to sell the 19-year-old.
It seems both clubs are not ready to reach a compromise over a fee, and the Merseyside club are moving on to other targets in the position.
Toffees manager David Moyes wants at least five more players after Dewsbury-Hall joins, and the owners – The Friedkin Group (TFG) – are ready to back him in the transfer market.
The Englishman started just twice in the Premier League last season, but he was a regular in the Conference League and he brings plenty of experience and quality to the table having also featured regularly in the English top-flight while with the Foxes.
The 5ft 9in Dewsbury-Hall has never played for England and a move to Everton could help boost his chances if he manages to hit the ground running when the 2025-26 campaign starts.
Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel will continue to monitor English players as he looks to strengthen his options ahead of the World Cup in 2026, and the soon-to-be Toffees midfielder has what it takes to break into his team and earn a call-up for subsequent matches.
