With Argentina’s recent victory over Switzerland, every soccer fan has their head turned to the World Cup stage, but they should know that MLS clubs are back in action with friendly games.
Recently, Burnley FC, a club from England’s second division, lost its first encounter against FC Cincinnati by a score of 3-1.
Now, in what could be called a mini US tour for the English side, they are up to battle against Columbus Crew tonight in what would be their second friendly match.
From the moment I’m writing this article, the Crew have two players who are unavailable for this clash: Malte Amundsen (out due to a thigh injury) and Wessam Abou Ali (out due to an ACL injury). Burnley doesn’t have any public injuries from players.
With this being said, join us for this Columbus Crew vs Burnley FC preview. In this article, we will discuss the latest news, provide information on how to watch the game, and present the predicted formation.

The encounter between these two teams will start at 4:00 p.m. ET at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio.
For our viewers, the clash between the MLS club and the Championship team will be available on Paramount+. However, fans in the US can also tune in to Alt 105.7 FM.
Following their recent defeat to FC Cincinnati, the Championship side will be looking to show more of its character and mentality, as these matches serve as preparation for its real objective: earning promotion back to the Premier League.
On the other side is a Columbus Crew team that has been in excellent form, winning its final two matches before the World Cup break, defeating Atlanta United in MLS and New York City FC in the U.S. Open Cup.
However, like Burnley, this friendly presents an excellent opportunity for the Crew to build confidence and maintain their winning momentum, crucial if they aim to secure a playoff spot in the near future.
Currently, the Columbus Crew find themselves just outside the playoff positions, sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference standings.
