“Comfortable win” – Alan Shearer names Chelsea’s best player in Everton win | OneFootball

Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer says that Chelsea had a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton yesterday afternoon.

The Toon hero was on Match of the Day duties last night watching the game and analysing all the action from yesterday.

It was Malo Gusto who scored the decisive goal of the game to finish things off yesterday after a fine all round display from the full back.

This came after Cole Palmer had given Chelsea the lead after a slow start to the game from Enzo Maresca’s side.

Shearer was discussing the game with Danny Murphy last night, and both of them agreed that it was Gusto who was the standout player in the game.

“It was a comfortable win for Chelsea,” Shearer said on Match of the Day as cited by London World. “Everton had a couple of opportunities but never looked like getting back into the game once it was 2-0. Malo Gusto was the stand-out Chelsea player for me, not just in terms of the obvious with the goal and assist.

“Also the questions he posed for Everton… linking up with Palmer and [Pedro] Neto down the right and moving into midfield alongside [Reece] James to create the extra man when needed.”

Murphy agreed

Murphy also described Gusto as the ‘star of the show’ in response to Shearer’s comments and to be honest, it wasn’t even a debate yesterday, Gusto was the clear standout player.

It was great to see Palmer get back on the scoresheet as well even if he still looks like he is slowly getting his match fitness back and will take some more games to get there.
