Yann Sommer has declared himself happy at Inter Milan ahead of Como vs Inter, but admitted his future beyond this season will be discussed in due course.

According to SportMediaset, the Swiss goalkeeper was upbeat about the final stretch of the campaign while remaining coy on what comes next after three years at the club.

“I’m very happy to play here, for this club, for these fans, I even love the stadium,” he said, via L’Interista.

“I’ve had three really good years at Inter. Then we’ll think about what happens after the end of this season.”

On the title run-in, Sommer was measured.

“We’re in a good situation. We’ve worked hard to get here and now we have seven very important games left. We want both the Coppa Italia and the Scudetto, but it’s very important to go step by step.”

Asked about the difference between Cristian Chivu and his predecessor Simone Inzaghi, Sommer declined to make direct comparisons.

“We had wonderful moments with Simone and now with Cristian. Chivu talks a lot with the players, listens to what we think, that’s very important for us. In terms of play, we’ve changed a bit: we’re more vertical.”

Sommer also addressed his international retirement, insisting he has no regrets.

“One hundred percent no. I thought about it a lot before making that decision. It was the best thing for me and my family at that point in my career and my life. I’ll watch my former team and cheer for them from home.”

On his fellow goalkeepers, Sommer praised several names.

“In Italy there are many goalkeepers I really like. This year I think Svilar has had a good season, and also Butez at Como. In general right now, I’d say I’m really impressed by Courtois, he’s been outstanding in recent matches.”
