Corentin Tolisso in Ligue 1 team of the season as Pierre Sage takes coach award | OneFootball

Corentin Tolisso was the only Lyon player recognised at the UNFP awards at the Palais Brongniart in Paris on Monday, named in the Ligue 1 team of the season. According to Le Progres, the OL captain features alongside five Parisians, three Lens players and one Marseillais.

It was a deserved nod for the World Cup winner, overlooked by France coach Didier Deschamps, who was in attendance, despite consistently high-level displays.

Dominik Greif had been the only Lyon player shortlisted for an individual prize, the best goalkeeper award, but Lens’s Robin Risser was voted the winner by his peers.

Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca was also beaten to the coach of the year prize by former Lyon man Pierre Sage, finally recognised for his season with Lens after his strong spell at OL.

The pair will meet on Sunday on the final day of Ligue 1, with OL facing Lens.
