Corinthians’ Deliberative Council and Guidance Council have issued joint rules on financial compliance for members ahead of this year’s club election. According to Meu Timao, the move seeks to provide clarity and protect the integrity of the ballot.
The decision is signed by Romeu Tuma Júnior and Miguel Marques e Silva, presidents of the CD and Cori respectively, plus Osmar Stabile, the board’s leader. The vote is expected in November.
There will be no amnesties or discounts on monthly fees. Members must be fully regularised two months before polling day, meaning by September. From August, instalment plans for overdue contributions will be limited.
To curb vote buying, third parties are barred from settling arrears for members. Limited exceptions apply to dependents, parents or grandparents, and children or grandchildren, with payment only by credit card at the Parque São Jorge office using facial recognition. Breaches could lead to sanctions for both payer and beneficiary, including possible ineligibility for candidates.
Members more than three months in arrears will have cases reviewed by the Members’ Ethics Commission and the Deliberative Council. If they need to pay by instalments via boleto or cheque, they must file an individual request and sign a declaration accepting they cannot vote or stand this time.
The notice will inform the electoral rulebook to be released soon by the Electoral Commission. A date has not been set, though the club traditionally votes in the second half of that month.
