Corinthians delay April wages for players and coaching staff | OneFootball

Corinthians have delayed payment of April wages to players and coaching staff, which were due on Thursday, the fifth working day of May.

According to Globo.com, the club said it expects to regularise the situation on Monday 11 May.

The squad and technical staff were notified of the delay and are treating the situation as routine. Other club employees with CLT contracts received their April pay as normal.

With gross debt of R$ 2.7 billion, Corinthians are dealing with a series of financial issues. This week the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordered the club to pay a little over R$ 6 million to Midtjylland for breaching an agreement related to the signing of midfielder Charles in the second half of 2024.

The club is also seeking an agreement with Argentina’s Talleres over R$ 42 million owed from the acquisition of midfielder Rodrigo Garro. Fernando Diniz’s side host São Paulo on Sunday at 18:30, Brasília time, at Neo Química Arena.
