Corinthians have not paid May wages to the first-team squad and Fernando Diniz's coaching staff, a second successive delay. The deposit was due on Saturday, the fifth working day of June, but did not arrive. UOL first reported the issue.

Last month, salaries for April were settled five days late for players and staff, while other employees were paid on time. There is currently no timetable to regularise payments, though the club is working to avoid a longer delay.

In May, the board led by Osmar Stabile faced financial pressure from obligations linked to the RCE, the CNRD and the Fazenda Nacional. Fresh hurdles now come amid a debt of R$ 2.7 billion.

Corinthians are under a transfer ban over arrears to Philadelphia Union for midfielder José Martínez. After a FIFA ruling and a failed CAS appeal, the club must pay 1.425 million dollars, about R$ 7.4 million, with annual interest of 15%, plus charges.

The club are also racing to settle what they owe Talleres for Rodrigo Garro to avoid another transfer ban. There is a deadline of Friday 12 to deposit 7 million dollars, about R$ 35.66 million.

Corinthians were ordered to pay 850,000 dollars to New York City FC for extending Talles Magno's loan, and the club can appeal. They also risk further sanction after a CAS decision to pay more than R$ 6 million to FC Midtjylland over a deal involving Charles.
