Corinthians extended their strong record against Uruguayan clubs with a 2-0 win over Peñarol in Itaquera on Thursday in the Libertadores group stage.

As reported by Meu Timao, there is a broader positive trend against Uruguayan opposition. Across 43 meetings, Corinthians have 21 wins, 14 draws and eight defeats, with 73 scored and 43 conceded. The return equates to 77 points and a 59.69% success rate.

Before beating Peñarol, Corinthians had already seen off Racing Club de Montevidéu in the 2025 Sudamericana, winning 1-0 away then 1-0 at home.

In 2024 they drew 1-1 in Uruguay and won 3-0 in São Paulo.

Their 2023 Libertadores meetings with Liverpool Montevideo brought two 3-0 wins, home and away.
