Corinthians go into Thursday’s sixth-round Paulistão meeting with Capivariano with fitness doubts over Yuri Alberto and Memphis Depay, and three players one booking from suspension, according to Meu Timao.

Both forwards missed training with the squad early in the week. Yuri Alberto is still recovering from a virus that affected him last week and did not take part, while the Dutchman worked on a more intense recovery programme indoors at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

Defender Cacá is also a doubt for a place on the bench. He suffered a strain to the left internal oblique muscle in his abdomen earlier this year and has been in physical transition since 26 January, so he could yet be involved.

Midfielder José Martínez remains in Venezuela seeking his passport and is a confirmed absentee. He has been away from the squad for a month, and the club has been annoyed by the lack of dialogue and effort to resolve the issue. Coach Dorival Júnior has voiced frustration that it should have been sorted earlier.

With a heavy run of fixtures, last Sunday’s Supercopa do Brasil win and Palmeiras next up, Corinthians may rest some key players. Those at risk are André Luiz, the Peruvian André Carrillo and Yuri Alberto.

Kick-off against Capivariano at Neo Química Arena is at 20:30 on Thursday. The team then host Palmeiras at the same venue on Sunday at 20:30 in the seventh round.
