Corinthians have been hit with a fresh FIFA transfer ban, blocking player registrations across senior and youth teams for the next three windows. TNT Sports reports that the sanction stems from unpaid fees owed to Philadelphia Union for midfielder José Martínez, whose deal was terminated earlier this year.

The club appears on FIFA’s official system among nine Brazilian sides currently under an active registration block. The embargo will remain until the debt is settled.

In September 2025, FIFA ordered Corinthians to pay 1.425 million dollars, plus 15% annual interest. The club appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and has yet to pay.

Martínez joined in August 2024 for 1.7 million dollars. Corinthians paid 200,000 dollars up front then missed subsequent instalments, after which Philadelphia took the case to FIFA and won. The decision remains under CAS review.

Brazil’s mid-year men’s window runs from 20 July to 11 September 2026. Corinthians can still renew existing deals, including Memphis Depay’s to 20 June 2026, and make signings for the women’s side.

Separately, CAS ruled that Corinthians must pay more than R$ 6 million to Midtjylland over the 2024 signing of Charles, with a 45-day deadline from 31 March and the risk of another ban. Thursday marked 51 days since the ruling was published. The club have also agreed a settlement with Talleres for Rodrigo Garro, for an upfront 8.5 million dollars including interest and charges, financed via a loan, though there is still no confirmation of payment.
