Corinthians honour Tamires after international integrity award

On the morning of this Friday, Corinthians highlighted the tribute received by Tamires from the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (Siga). At 38 years old, the left-back, one of the greatest references of the Brabas, was internationally recognized for her career and conduct on and off the field. The honor, awarded since 2022, highlights organizations and personalities that excel worldwide in promoting integrity, good governance, and transparency in sports.

In an official statement, the club from Parque São Jorge emphasized that the distinction, coming from one of the main global entities focused on sports integrity, reinforces principles that are part of its institutional identity, such as ethics, responsibility, transparency, and respect for the rules of the game.

According to Corinthians, the recognition of the black-and-white jersey symbolizes the union between high sports performance and exemplary professional conduct, values aligned with the integrity practices adopted by the club. Among the initiatives mentioned are education and awareness programs, policies to prevent match-fixing, and actions to combat discrimination and intolerance. Timão also reiterated that integrity in sports is fundamental for institutional sustainability, athlete development, and maintaining credibility with society.

Tamires' numbers with the Brabas jersey highlight her relevance: she has played 213 matches, 177 as a starter, with 165 wins, 33 draws, and only 15 losses. During this period, she won 17 titles, including six editions of the Brazilian Championship and four of the Libertadores, in addition to recording 51 assists and 37 goals.

The experienced left-back will have the opportunity to extend her records this Friday night when Corinthians faces Atlético Mineiro at 9 PM at Arena MRV, in the opening round of the 2026 Women's Brazilian Championship.
