Corinthians are in talks with Botafogo over a deal for Arthur Cabral, with Pedro Raul potentially moving the other way as part of the agreement.
Gazeta reported the clubs are discussing terms that would bring Arthur to Parque São Jorge and send Pedro Raul to Rio. The discussions fall within the exception window that closes on Friday, 27 March, with different structures under debate.
For 2026, the CBF raised the intra Serie A appearance cap from six to 12, so both players, each on four league games, remain eligible to switch.
Arthur, 27, joined Botafogo from Benfica in 2025 for 15 million euros, with a contract to December 2028. After a bright start, he has lost minutes in 2026, playing 12 times with one goal and one assist.
“He is on our monitoring list, but nothing is very advanced at the moment. We value financial balance,” said Corinthians football executive Marcelo Paz, speaking to ESPN before last Thursday’s Libertadores group-stage draw.
Pedro Raul, 29, signed in February 2024 on a contract to 31 December 2028. After delays on the original US$ 5 million fee, Corinthians renegotiated the deal to at least US$ 8 million, payable across 2025 to 2028.
Vitória and Remo have enquired about a loan, but there has been no progress as Corinthians want his full salary covered. In 2026 he has made 12 appearances, mostly from the bench, with one assist.
