Corinthians have issued a statement of condolence after a bus crash on the CE-187 near Tauá, Ceará, in the early hours of Monday 15 that left seven members of the Associação Desportiva e Cultural de Juazeiro do Norte dead.

According to G1, the victims were Henrique Ferreira Bezerra, 17, João Paulo Sampaio de Alencar, 18, Luiz José de Morais Neto, 18, and Cauã Rodrigues Fratta, 16, from the Under-19 team, Jonatas Samuel do Santos Lopes, 15, and Matheus Henrique Ferreira Martins, 15, from the Under-15s, and Marcos Miguel da Silva, 22, a member of the Under-19 staff.

The note expressed solidarity with families, friends and everyone affected, referenced the location near the Santa Teresa district in Tauá, and lamented the loss of young athletes and their dreams.

The bus was carrying about 40 people and was returning from Sobral, in the state interior, where ADEJU’s Under-19s had won the Copa Sobral 2026 hours earlier.

At least 30 people were injured.
