Corinthians Mogi sign Brazil amputee international Pedro for rest of season | OneFootball

Corinthians Mogi have signed attacking midfielder Pedro to bolster their amputee football team for the remainder of the season. He arrives after a spell with São Bento and is a Brazil international in the discipline. According to Meu Timao, the club announced the deal on Tuesday.

Pedro will wear the number 11 shirt and has already started training with his new team-mates. The expectation is that he will be available to the coaching staff for the side's next matches.

The second half of the year brings a busy schedule, including the Campeonato Paulista, the Taças da Cidade and the Libertadores. Their state campaign is due to start on 8 August against Caieiras.

Corinthians head into that run buoyed by this year's Campeonato Brasileiro title. On 7 June they beat Assama, Associação dos Deficientes por Amputação de Maringá, 3-1 in Goiânia to claim a sixth national crown.

Launched in 2015, the project is a partnership between Corinthians and the Prefeitura de Mogi das Cruzes and has become a leading reference in the sport in Brazil. The team have collected six Brazilian titles, seven Campeonato Paulista triumphs and six Copa do Brasil wins.
