Corinthians are exploring legal measures to overturn attendance limits for the Athletico-PR match on 19 February at 19:30 at Arena da Baixada, the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Internally, the club consider the chances of success minimal.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians are already working on the restricted-spectator scenario, yet will still seek alternatives. Gaviões da Fiel also plan legal action to try to ensure full access for their members, and a source contends the sanction should apply only to Athletico fans involved.

The fixture is currently set to admit only women, children aged up to 12, over-60s and people with disabilities. The limitation was initially expected to cover only the home support, but it is also set to include the visiting section.

The restriction stems from an STJD punishment on Athletico after fighting among their supporters in the 2025 derby with Coritiba in Série B. The ruling also included a home-venue ban and a R$15,000 fine.

In the 2025 Copa do Brasil quarter-final first leg, a 1-0 Corinthians win, about 4,000 away fans were in the Arena da Baixada visitors’ section.

Before the league meeting, Dorival Júnior’s side face Red Bull Bragantino at 20:00 on Thursday at Neo Química Arena in the third round of the Brasileirão. On Sunday they visit São Bernardo at 20:30 at the Maião in the final round of the Paulista group stage.
