Corinthians set phased plan to open new Setor Sul at Neo Química Arena | OneFootball

Corinthians will phase in extra capacity at the Neo Química Arena after removing seats in the Setor Sul, with ticket allocations rising match by match. According to Meu Timao, the club plans a staggered release of the new places.

About 200 additional tickets will go on sale to start with, then 300 and 500 in subsequent fixtures. The numbers are expected to keep increasing until Polícia Militar and Corpo de Bombeiros authorise the sector’s full use.

The seat removal was cleared by public authorities after joint work between Corinthians’ executive board and the arena’s management. The Setor Sul previously held up to 7,406, and full clearance would raise that to 9,083.

For the match against Remo on 23 July, in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, the Setor Sul will be open to the Fiel. Tickets will be sold exclusively via the Fiel Torcedor platform.

Corinthians are also moving to expand the Leste Superior, with Indigo having agreed to fund around 2,000 new seats. The works still require safety approvals, and unlike the temporary structures used during the 2014 World Cup and NFL games, this build would be permanent, in masonry.

With both projects, the club projects an overall capacity of about 55,000 at the Neo Química Arena, up from 48,905 today.
