Corinthians striker on draw, celebrates final at Neo Química Arena

On the morning of this Sunday, 7, Corinthians began the fight for the seventh title of the Brazilian Women's Championship. In a match played at the Independência Arena, in Belo Horizonte, against Cruzeiro, the Brabas took the lead twice but allowed a draw on both occasions, with the final score being 2 x 2. The alvinegro goals were scored by Gi Fernandes and Gabi Zanotti.

Shortly after the end of the game, striker Vic Albuquerque spoke in the mixed zone with the press, where she commented on the goals conceded in the draw: "We took the lead, right? So, we were already there with the victory in hand. And we concede a goal and, even so, we don't stop attacking, we don't like to stop attacking. But, it's a hill we have to climb, score a goal and concede a goal. We get a bit discouraged, but it doesn't hinder the overall pursuit of victory."

She continued analyzing the match. "This game was a very difficult game, right? We took the lead, but we throw a punch and take a punch. This hurts a lot, especially the defense there mentally. Even more a goal that we predicted a little before, right? That we talked a lot about the aerial ball, it was something we were training a lot. Even so, we suffered with it", she said.

Vic stated that the defensive mistakes will be trained not to repeat, especially in the aerial ball: "What we need is to improve our aerial ball, have a little more contact even before the ball is crossed. I think that's the only way we can prevent this, because they are strong in this aspect."

Finally, the striker projected the return game at Neo Química Arena, taking the opportunity to exalt the support of the Fiel Torcida. "We really wanted to play there all year, right? We knew the conditions, but we felt our fan where we went, where we played. So, I think it makes a total difference. We don't treat this as a burden, quite the contrary. It's very light for us to play with our fans by our side. And we will try to seek the title in every way", she concluded.
