Corinthians ‘to consider’ resuming Fabrizio Angileri renewal talks | OneFootball

Corinthians have not given up on extending 31-year-old left-back Fabrizio Angileri’s contract and could reopen talks after a pause. According to Meu Timao, the club is assessing whether to resume negotiations.

At that stage discussions were frozen, and the club stressed it would work within its budget and respect financial limits. It also noted there were already two full-backs in the squad.

The shift now reflects difficulty sourcing a left-back who fits the required conditions, either on loan or as a free agent. In that context, a fresh approach for Angileri may occur.

Corinthians had been trying to renew since August 2024 without agreement despite several rounds of talks, largely due to financial terms. Negotiations did not advance.

The Argentine joined in February after terminating his contract with Getafe in Spain. He alternated in form through the year but earned opportunities under Dorival Júnior, also filling in at centre-back.

Angileri made 42 appearances, 26 as a starter, with 20 wins, 10 draws and 12 defeats. He registered two assists and collected the Paulistão and Copa do Brasil titles.
