Corinthians will pause activities at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava for 25 days during the World Cup break, starting after the 30 May trip to Grêmio and running until 25 June, when an interseason camp begins. ge.globo reports that the plan covers the domestic shutdown in Brazil.

Head coach Fernando Diniz has approved the schedule, which includes at least one friendly before domestic football resumes in July, with venue and opponent to be set. A proposed friendly tournament in Brasília, with Grêmio and Flamengo among mooted participants, has been dropped.

Before stopping, Corinthians have six competitive fixtures, three in the Brasileiro, two in the Copa Libertadores and one in the Copa do Brasil. Three are at the Neo Química Arena, the others are away in Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo in Uruguay and Porto Alegre.

After the World Cup, the first match is due to be against Remo in Itaquera in the Brasileiro. It currently carries 22 July as a base date, still to be confirmed by the CBF.

The club expects at least two World Cup call-ups. Goalkeeper Hugo Souza is on Carlo Ancelotti’s preliminary list of 55 players, with 26 names due next Monday. Dutch forward Memphis Depay is considered very likely to be selected by Ronald Koeman, with an announcement expected on the 25th.

The hiatus will also let Corinthians complete 30 days of holiday across 2025 and 2026, a requirement delayed by last season’s Copa do Brasil final and a pre-season start in the first week of January.
