In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi wants to join Real Madrid next summer. It has been mentioned that the English talent has his heart set on a move to the Madrid club at the end of this season.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a solid campaign at the London club as he has put in a series of impressive displays at the heart of their backline. Guehi has played in six matches for Crystal Palace this season, finding the back of the net once in all competitions.
The English talent has been a dominant presence on the defensive end of the field after he made five tackles, two interceptions and 13 clearances in the Premier League so far. He has also been tidy when distributing possession from the back after completing 83.9% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current deal at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, Los Blancos could potentially come to a pre-contract agreement with the player this January.

Guehi is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.
The English talent has already proven his worth in the Premier League. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga if Real Madrid decide to sign him next year.
We can expect Guehi to inject more bite and steel into Los Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 25, Guehi has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Madrid giants to consider this January. All in all, Alonso should focus on bringing him on board on a free transfer next summer as he could help Real Madrid compete for some major silverware over the next few years.
