After the goalless draw with Coritiba at Vila Belmiro, Cuca acknowledged Santos will look for reinforcements in the next transfer window and stressed that restoring confidence depends on results.

According to Diario Do Peixe, he said the board will act in the mid-year market to strengthen the squad for the rest of the season. He added he is already identifying areas to improve and is seeking alternatives within the group.

He noted he has been in post for one month and has a clear read on what is needed. He argued that signings alone will not fix the team’s mood, only winning matches will. He felt performances have not been poor and that recent opponents arrived in high spirits.

Cuca also highlighted Santos’s main issue as turning attacking volume into victories. The side have created chances in recent outings, yet passed up key opportunities at Vila Belmiro.

With the next window nearing, the football department, led by Alexandre Mattos, is expected to work with Cuca to set recruitment priorities. The aim is to bolster the group and fine-tune the team for the second half of the campaign.
