Cuca leads Santos tactical session before Osasco training match | OneFootball

Santos stepped up preparations for the Campeonato Brasileiro restart, with head coach Cuca running a tactical session ahead of a training match against Osasco Sporting.

According to Globo.com, the workout took place on Wednesday morning at CT Rei Pelé, with the run-out against the Série A2 Paulista club scheduled for Thursday.

Academy players were drafted in to bolster numbers, as part of the group that has been working with Cuca was released to feature in Santos’ Campeonato Brasileiro sub-20 fixture.

Right-back Igor Vinícius remains in transition back to the pitch, and the expectation is that he will be cleared to play against Botafogo on the 16th at 19:30 Brasília time at the Estádio Nilton Santos.

Gabriel Bontempo stayed in the CT Rei Pelé gym as he continues treatment on a pubis issue, and he was absent from the friendly with União São João in recent weeks.

Cuca is expected to use part of the run-out to give minutes to players who were rarely tested in the first half of the year, and to assess further academy options.
