Michael Olise has exceeded all expectations in his first season at FC Bayern. With goals, assists and spectacular moves, the Frenchman has become one of the best attacking players in Europe. However, a recent statistic now shows that his already impressive numbers could have been even better
The 24-year-old was one of the decisive factors in the record champions‘ success last season, regularly making the difference with his dribbling, creativity and efficiency and quickly becoming an absolute crowd favourite in Munich
Despite his strong finishing, Olise lacked that famous bit of luck in some situations. As a recent statistic shows, no player was stopped by the aluminum more often than the Bayern star in the 2025-16 Bundesliga season
His shots hit the post or crossbar no fewer than five times, making Olise the league leader in this particular statistic
The Frenchman is followed by Tim Lemperle and Michael Gregoritsch, among others, who each hit the aluminum four times
One of these aluminum goals was particularly painful in the home match against FC Augsburg: With the score at 1:2, Olise went for his typical finish towards the far corner in stoppage time
Instead of a late equalizer, Bayern conceded their only Bundesliga defeat of the season
It was one of the few situations in which even the outstanding Frenchman was left powerless

However, these statistics do little to change the overall picture. Olise was one of the most dominant players in the Bundesliga and delivered week in, week out
In the league alone, he scored 15 goals and provided 21 assists, directly contributing to 36 goals and making him one of the most prolific attacking players in Europe
Together with Harry Kane and Luis Díaz, he formed one of the most dangerous attacking trios on the continent
What is particularly remarkable is that Olise still has development potential despite these exceptional figures. His first season at FC Bayern went almost perfectly, but the aluminum goals show that his record could theoretically have been even more impressive
This should be a very promising prospect for the coming season: if the Frenchman maintains his current form and has a little more luck, his already outstanding statistics could reach new heights
In any case, FC Bayern are hoping that Olise will pick up exactly where he left off in 2025/26 – just perhaps with a few centimetres more luck with his finishes.
