Michael Olise impressed not only FC Bayern fans with his performances last season, but also his colleagues in the Bundesliga. He has now been voted player of the season in a player poll

Michael Olise was voted the best outfield player in the Bundesliga in kicker ’s traditional player poll. 199 Bundesliga professionals took part in the vote anonymously and, as usual, voted for their tops and flops of the season

There was a clear winner in the question „Which Bundesliga outfield player impressed you the most in sporting terms?“: Olise was named 81 times and thus received 40.7 percent of the votes. The Bayern professional finished in first place by a large margin

He was followed by Leipzig’s Yan Diomande with 15.1 per cent and Luka Vuskovic from Hamburger SV with 11.1 per cent. Both are among the big rising stars of the season, but were no match for Olise in the eyes of the Bundesliga professionals

A look at the other positions is also remarkable. Harry Kane, who once again secured the top scorer’s crown, had to be content with 10.1 per cent of the votes and fourth place. Luis Diaz completed the strong Munich attacking trio with 4.5 per cent in fifth place

It was this Bayern attack in particular that made its mark on the Bundesliga last season, with Olise, Kane and Diaz playing a key role in the German record champions setting a new Bundesliga record of 122 goals for the season

Olise himself has once again improved significantly compared to the previous year. A year ago, he came second in the kicker poll with 26.4 per cent, just behind Florian Wirtz at the time. The former Leverkusen player now plays for Liverpool FC

In his second season at FC Bayern, Olise took the next sporting step. The right winger scored 37 points in the Bundesliga alone. 15 goals and 22 assists are on the French international’s tally

This was a further improvement on his already strong haul from the previous season, when Olise scored 12 goals and 19 assists. The DFL named him player of the season on the final matchday, and the Bundesliga professionals have now come to the same conclusion

Another category of the poll is even more surprising: the Bundesliga professionals not only voted Olise the best outfield player in the league, but also the best attacking player in the world at the moment

the Bayern star received 33.2 per cent of the votes, putting Olise well ahead of even internationally highly rated names. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who had clearly won last year with 53.7 per cent, only came second this time with 18.6 per cent

Harry Kane again came third with 14.1%, meaning that FC Bayern also had two of the top three players in this category

For Olise, the result is another exclamation mark in an already outstanding season. The Frenchman not only impresses with his numbers, but also with his style of play: elegant, efficient and always decisive.
