Daniel Farke says Leeds face a Dominic Calvert-Lewin fitness doubt for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham, while Anton Stach is expected to be available after a hip issue. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the striker has undergone a precautionary scan after feeling hamstring discomfort.
Farke explained that Calvert-Lewin ended training early on Wednesday, did not train on Thursday and will be assessed, adding he hopes the forward can rejoin the group before the trip. He noted the recent travel and varying conditions and stressed it could be a minor problem.
Stach missed a day’s work this week with hip trouble but has returned to training and is anticipated to be fine for Sunday. The head coach added there are minor knocks elsewhere and that late decisions will be taken on the travelling party.
Gabriel Gudmundsson, suspended for the Brentford match before the break, later took a knee knock against Ukraine. He said he was fine and then played the full game in the play-off final win over Poland.
Noah Okafor was an unused substitute against Germany, then was not involved against Norway. Dan James, recently back from a hamstring tendon injury, scored and played 84 minutes in the penalty defeat to Bosnia, then featured for 45 minutes against Northern Ireland.
Calvert-Lewin made his England return against Uruguay, then was one of eight players to leave the camp before Japan. His exit was understood to be pre-planned as boss Thomas Tuchel trimmed his squad.
