Leeds United have received a lift for the visit of bottom side Wolves at Elland Road, with Daniel Farke naming an unchanged XI from Monday’s 2-1 win at Manchester United and Joe Rodon returning to the bench. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the centre-back is back two weeks after an ankle injury in FA Cup win at West Ham.
It had been thought Rodon would be out until May. He replaces Sam Byram among the substitutes, with Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte again included.
On Thursday, Farke said Rodon, Anton Stach and Dan James remained out, though none was ruled out. He noted that Rodon and Stach’s ankle injuries were likely to keep them out until May, with all three assessed day to day. James sustained an adductor strain before the West Ham tie and has not featured since.
Gabi Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Noah Okafor shook off issues to start at Old Trafford, and Farke said every player apart from Rodon, Stach and James was fit. That included Ao Tanaka, who limped off with cramp.
Wolves boss Rob Edwards has made two enforced changes, with suspended Yerson Mosquera replaced by Toti and injured keeper Jose Sa out, so Dan Bentley starts his first league game of the season. Under-21 goalkeeper Alfie Brooks is on a Premier League bench for the first time.
Leeds XI: Darlow, Bogle, Justin, Bijol, Struijk, Gudmundsson, Ampadu, Tanaka, Okafor, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin.
Wolves XI: Bentley, Tchatchoua, Toti, S Bueno, Krejci, H Bueno, Andre, J Gomes, A Gomes, Bellegarde, Armstrong.
