Daniel Farke will only revisit loanee Mateo Joseph’s future once Leeds’ season is complete, while offering support after the striker’s ACL injury sustained on loan at Mallorca.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 22-year-old suffered the serious knee injury last month, ending his season and ruling him out for several months. He has spent the campaign with La Liga side Mallorca after opting against joining Leeds’ pre-season tours and seeking a move back to Spain.

Joseph started 19 league games and made 10 substitute appearances for Mallorca, scoring two goals and providing four assists. One assist set up the winner in a famous victory over Real Madrid in the final match before his injury.

Farke had previously disagreed with Joseph’s decision to skip the training camp in Germany last summer but he has now stressed his focus remains on Leeds’ current players and tasks. He will not discuss loans, signings or recruitment until after the FA Cup and Premier League campaigns are over and the club have achieved their aims.

He also wished Joseph well, noting the priority is a proper rehabilitation, with Mallorca involved and a good relationship between the clubs, while the mother club retains its view. Joseph’s Mallorca team-mates dedicated their win over Rayo Vallecano to him, while former Leeds colleagues posted messages of support on social media.
