As Liverpool closed out their Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, David Lynch used his YouTube platform to deliver a reflective, emotional and analytical response. The day wasn’t about the scoreline, but about moments, transitions and meaning. From Mo Salah’s brilliance to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s reception, Lynch dissected the layers behind the occasion with clarity and sincerity.
Lynch didn’t pretend the result had weight: “The result really didn’t matter today. Palace fans were in party mode. Anfield was in party mode.” Yet the equaliser by Mohamed Salah created a lasting emotional peak.
“When that Mo Salah goal goes in… the noise inside Anfield in that moment was absolutely incredible,” Lynch said, calling it a unifying spark. “It turned this day into the joyous moment it was… even though it was only Liverpool getting a draw rather than a win.”
There was no ambiguity in Lynch’s appraisal of Salah’s contributions. “He has been the key architect of the fact that they are Premier League winners this season,” he stated, also noting Salah was awarded both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards at full time.
Lynch highlighted the record-equalling 47 goal contributions and pointed out, “Mo Salah is out on his own in that regard… one of the greatest Premier League seasons of all time.” He added, “It absolutely has to be recognised with the Ballon d’Or later in the year.”

Lynch reserved credit for Crystal Palace’s performance. “You watch them play football — so disciplined, so well organised but also incredible quality from back to front.” He highlighted the quality of players like Eze and Munoz, and said, “Assar was fantastic today.”
He used Palace’s performance to underline the competitiveness of the league: “If you take your foot off the gas by even 1% in this league… Premier League teams will absolutely hurt you.”
Trent’s reception at Anfield was one of the more emotional layers in Lynch’s review. “There was still a great reception for him,” he said. “Big cheers when the substitution actually gets announced… no real boos when he gets his touch.”
Lynch contextualised this against recent boos and criticism, calling it “a kind of warm reception to sign it off.” He added, “The message has been sent… but there was still space for a little bit of recognition of what he has actually achieved.”

In comparing this trophy lift to the one in 2020, Lynch described the previous version as “cold and empty.” This time, however, he said, “To see the pyro on the pitch, to see the fireworks going off, to see Anfield full and heralding the champions — it was just a privilege.”
“It was much more in line with what every Liverpool supporter has dreamed of for the last 35 years.”
Lynch believes Liverpool are well placed to start a new era. “They want to turn this into a dynasty… restore Liverpool to being the biggest club in England.” He highlighted upcoming moves for players like Jeremy Frimpong and Florian Wirtz and praised Arne Slot’s leadership: “The manager is absolutely incredible… has done a remarkable job in his first season.”
“It really does feel like we are at the start of a new one… what an incredibly exciting time to follow this club.”
Ending on a poignant note, Lynch referenced a video of a father and son at Anfield, quoting the child: “Football is the excuse, people are the reason.” He described it as “spine-tingling” and concluded, “Let’s just take today to savour this moment… Liverpool supporters get to celebrate the champions of England and they get to do it together.”
