Following the Champions League semi-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, planning for the coming season is already in full swing at FC Bayern. A number of changes could be made in the summer, particularly in defense
Internally, the record champions are currently working intensively on the question of how the defense should be set up for the coming season
Several personnel issues are causing uncertainty: Konrad Laimer has not yet extended his contract, which runs until 2027, even though both sides are said to have come closer recently, Alphonso Davies is still struggling with injury problems and Josip Stanisic is increasingly being considered as an option in central defense
Added to this is Raphaël Guerreiro’s departure on a free transfer, which could create additional demand on the flanks
Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam has been one of Munich’s dream players for months. The 19-year-old fits the profile they are looking for perfectly, but a transfer is proving difficult
On the one hand, Manchester City are said to be showing strong interest, while on the other, Feyenoord’s asking price is apparently well above FC Bayern’s internal pain threshold. Munich are unlikely to invest more than around 30 million euros for Read

Bayern are therefore apparently looking at other options – and are once again looking at Newcastle
As TEAMtalk reports, the Munich club are looking at Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, both England internationals who are among the most exciting full-backs in the Premier League
While Newcastle clearly do not want to sell Hall under any circumstances, Livramento could well become an issue if they receive a suitable offer. The 23-year-old is considered to be extremely dynamic, flexible and has exactly the athleticism that Vincent Kompany appreciates
However, Livramento are also unlikely to come cheap, with several top European clubs besides Bayern, Manchester City and Arsenal, reportedly interested in him
At the same time, Munich are also keeping an eye on Tomás Araújo from Benfica Lisbon, according to tz. The Portuguese is actually a central defender, but can also defend on the right and would therefore fit perfectly into the flexible requirements profile
Initial talks are said to have already taken place, but the big problem remains the financial dimension: Araújo has an exit clause of 80 million euros with Benfica
It therefore seems clear that FC Bayern is not looking for a temporary solution for the defense, but for players who will function at the absolute top level in the long term.
