Departing Barcelona star wanted in Saudi Arabia | OneFootball

A recently-departed member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the transfer wishlist of Saudi outfit Al-Shabab.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Oriol Romeu as the player in question.

Midfielder Romeu of course saw his time on the books of Barcelona officially brought to a close earlier this week.

As much came after Deco and co, amid a lack of offers, were ultimately left with little choice but to terminate the contract of the former Girona man.

And as alluded to above, Romeu could in turn be set for a new chapter in the Saudi Pro League.

As per a report from Marca, the 33-year-old already has contract offers on the table from a number of clubs.

And at the front of the queue in the bidding for Romeu, it is understood, are Al-Shabab.

Now managed by former Real Sociedad head coach Imanol Alguacil, Al-Shabab are pushing for the signature of the free agent midfielder, with Romeu for his part ‘closely studying’ the proposal.
