Spain could miss out on hosting the 2030 World Cup final, with concern that Donald Trump’s influence may tilt the showcase match towards Morocco.

El Partidazo de la COPE reports that figures inside the RFEF fear the final may not be staged at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Casablanca mooted instead, amid claims Trump wants the 2030 showpiece in Morocco.

During the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, a phone call from Trump to FIFA president Gianni Infantino prompted the suspension of a ban on United States striker Folarin Balogun. He had been sent off against Bosnia for a heavy challenge, and the decision allowed him to face Belgium in the round of 16.

With Spain, Portugal and Morocco set to co-host in 2030, the final and the International Broadcast Centre are key assets. The IBC concentrates most accredited media and boosts visibility for its host, and the Spanish federation is keen to link it to the final in Madrid, the report added.
