Dr Vanessa Melo leaves Corinthians women’s medical staff after social media post | OneFootball

Dr Vanessa Melo has left the Corinthians women’s backroom staff.

She said in a social media post on Monday that she was ending her spell with the club’s women’s football department and offered thanks for her time leading the medical team.

Her message thanked every athlete and colleague from the academy to the first team and described how the stint taught her about sports medicine, the women’s game and life.

Team-mates including Tamires, Andressa Alves, Vic Albuquerque and Lelê left supportive comments beneath the post, noting it had been a pleasure to work with her, calling her special and wishing her success.

Melo joined the first-team medical department in October 2025, taking over after Dr Lygia Neder’s departure to the Brazil women’s national team.

Before stepping up to the senior set-up, she had worked within Corinthians’ youth ranks.
