Edin Terzic agrees two-season deal to lead Athletic Club | OneFootball

Edin Terzic has agreed to take charge of Athletic Club on a two-season contract through 30 June 2028, the club said in a statement on Tuesday.

Terzic, aged 43, has twice coached Borussia Dortmund, coming close to the Bundesliga title in 2023 after winning the German Cup in 2021.

In 2024 he reached the Champions League final, where Dortmund lost 2-0 to Real Madrid. He has also worked in the club’s academy and sporting department.

His background includes assistant roles at West Ham and at Besiktas in Türkiye. He will be the second German to manage Athletic after Jupp Heynckes.

He will be presented after the season ends, with four matches still to play. The board led by Jon Uriarte has named him as the replacement for Ernesto Valverde, who will leave the club.
