Eight big Sunderland decisions for Régis Le Bris before Ipswich opener | OneFootball

Régis Le Bris still has major tactical, selection and transfer decisions to settle before Sunderland open against Ipswich Town.

A 5-1 win at York City was encouraging, but attention now turns to the training ground and the United States tour. Sunderland Echo highlights eight key calls ahead of the Premier League kick-off, with Europa League commitments increasing the load.

Chris Rigg, 19, scored at York and looked stronger, raising the prospect of a regular midfield role. A number eight berth could fit, though Le Bris must weigh his defensive reliability against the option of using him across roles.

At centre-back, Dan Ballard is expected back during the tour after ankle surgery, with Omar Alderete, Luke O’Nien and the versatile Nordi Mukiele in contention. Trai Hume is a reliable right-back, Mukiele can also play there, and Thomas Meunier offers further cover.
