Eliezer Mayenda’s Sunderland future has come under fresh scrutiny after his agent, Alfonso Stellitano, posted from the Stadium of Light with the caption “The Last Dance”, tagging Sunderland, Mayenda and the Premier League.

Foot Mercato reports that the 21-year-old is expected to leave this summer, with several ambitious European clubs monitoring his situation, and that his performances after Sunderland’s historic Europa League qualification have caught the eye, his age, potential and Premier League exposure making him an attractive attacking prospect.

Mayenda made 23 appearances in all competitions in 2025-26, scoring twice in the Premier League. He was not always a regular starter, but his pace, versatility and work-rate offered Régis Le Bris a useful option.

He joined from Sochaux in 2023 and has made 73 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 12 goals. His breakthrough came in the 2024-25 promotion campaign with 10 goals in 42 matches, helping the Black Cats return to the Premier League.

He then stepped up to the top flight with 20 league appearances as Sunderland finished seventh. The club are preparing for a significant summer as they plan for Premier League and Europa League football. Mayenda remains under contract, and if interest develops, Sunderland would be expected to protect their position, having shown they will make firm decisions when the timing is right.
