Corinthians have yet to field Agustina Barroso since her return to Parque São Jorge on 10 January 2026. The 32-year-old defender suffered a recurrent contracture linked to a scar in the left calf soleus, resumed training last week, then felt discomfort again and missed Thursday's defeat to São Paulo.
According to Meu Timao, head coach Emily Lima said Barroso felt fresh calf discomfort that is usual after a long lay-off. She added that she does not believe it is a new injury, with the staff taking a cautious approach and thinking the Argentine could be back soon.
Barroso rejoined at the start of the year on a free from Flamengo, signing through to the end of 2026 after Mariza left for Tigres of Mexico. In her first stint in 2017 she played two matches, both in the Libertadores Feminina, a campaign Corinthians won against Colo-Colo.
The issue has already kept her out of 15 matches in 2026. She has been sidelined for more than five months, missing the Copa de Campeãs da Fifa, the Women's Club World Cup, the Supercopa Feminina, half of the Brasileiro's league phase and the Paulista opener.
Her absence is compounded by defender Thaís Regina's serious injury, a left ankle fibula fracture in January, with the player now in the final stage of physical transition. For now, Lima has Thais Ferreira, Letícia Teles, Erika and the youngster Duda Mineira available in defence.
Corinthians face São Paulo again on Monday at 21:30 at Fazendinha in the 10th round of the Brasileiro Feminino. It is a meeting of the top two, with Corinthians on 22 points and São Paulo on 20.
