Etta Eyong back in Levante squad for Villarreal trip, 300,000 euros if he plays | OneFootball

Etta Eyong has been named in Levante’s squad for the visit to La Cerámica, a return that could trigger a 300,000 euros payment. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, if he plays, Levante must pay Villarreal under last summer’s transfer agreement.

His situation now is very different to earlier in the season. He began the campaign at Villarreal, scoring their first league goal against Oviedo and producing one goal and two assists in the opening three rounds.

Villarreal then backed Tani Oluwaseyi as fourth striker, and Eyong, aware minutes would be scarce under Marcelino, moved to the Ciutat de València.

Levante had tracked him all summer and won the race, signing a player who hit 19 goals in 30 for Villarreal B. He started fast, with four goals in his first five outings, looking a difference-maker in the survival fight.

The streak faded quickly. His last LaLiga EA Sports goal came on 26 October 2025, in Levante’s draw at Son Moix against Mallorca. More than six months on, he has five goals and two assists in the top flight and now sits behind Carlos Espí and Iván Romero.

Eyong has not started since eight February, when he was in the XI for the 4-2 defeat at Athletic in San Mamés. He appeared for 26 minutes in the first meeting with Villarreal at the Ciutat de València, a game the visitors won 0-1.

He now returns to the club he served in 2024 and 2025, seeking minutes, confidence and a goal.
