Evelin back from U20 Women’s World Cup, week off before Sereias return | OneFootball

Evelin Bonifácio has returned to Brazil after the country’s U20 Women’s World Cup exit in Poland, and has been given a week off before rejoining Sereias da Vila training next week.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Marcelo Frigerio’s side paused for two weeks while she was away at the tournament.

The midfielder featured in every Brazil match. In the group stage she started and scored twice against Tanzania, then came on at half-time to provide assists against Canada and England. She entered in extra time in the round of 16 as Brazil advanced past the United States on penalties, then started the quarter-final defeat to Spain.

Evelin is under contract until the end of 2027. Already a mainstay at youth level, she earned senior call-ups from Arthur Elias this year. She broke into the Sereias first team last year and attracted interest from major clubs before agreeing her renewal.

Born in Peruíbe, São Paulo state, she made her name in Baixada Santista futsal and broke a scoring record in a traditional schools tournament. She joined the Peixe academy in 2023 and has been a regular in youth national squads since.

Her senior debut came in a 2-2 draw with São Paulo at Vila Belmiro in the eighth round of the Paulistão on 3 September 2025. She scored her first professional goal against Red Bull Bragantino in November and is sponsored by Nike.

This year she won the South American U20 title and the Fifa Series with the senior team. Last year she was among the leading scorers at the South American U17 and featured at the U17 World Cup.
