Everton admire Strasbourg right-back Guela Doue, with the club eager to bolster the flank following the departure of Seamus Coleman, according to the Daily Mail.

Last season, Everton boss David Moyes deployed centre-back Jake O’Brien at right-back, but the club could use a specialist.

Signing a new right-back is one of the club’s priorities heading into the summer transfer window, and Everton have been linked to exciting names like Ben White and now Doue.

Doue had another phenomenal campaign in Ligue 1, helping his team keep five clean sheets while winning 64 percent of his aerial duels last season.

He is a natural leader who also held his own in one-on-one situations, coming out on top in 48% of his ground duels.

He is comfortable as a traditional right-back in a back four or as a wing-back in a back three – versatility that will appeal to the Toffees.

Doue would be a phenomenal addition to the Everton ranks, giving Moyes more attacking threat from the right, although they are not alone in the race to sign him.

Newcastle United have also shown interest in securing his services after missing out on Marco Palestra.

The report notes that while Everton are interested in his services, Moyes might prefer a right-back with more Premier League experience.

If Everton are serious about upgrading the right side of their defence, passing on Doue would be a mistake.

The 23-year-old already combines physicality, defensive reliability and attacking intent in a way that is difficult to find on the market.

More importantly, he still has room to develop, meaning Everton would be investing in both the present and the future.

While Premier League experience is often viewed as a safety net, quality ultimately translates, and Doue has shown he possesses it in abundance.

Players with his profile rarely come cheap once they establish themselves at a higher level.

Moyes has an opportunity to secure a potential star before his value climbs even further.
