Who is Zara Kramžar?

Zara Kramžar is a highly rated midfielder from Slovenia who has been playing in Rome for the past two years.

The 20-year-old broke through the ranks in her home nation before moving to Serie A in 2022.

Kramžar became the first player born in 2006 to play in the league. After back to back titles with Roma, the young star was loaned out to Como with the hopes that she would gain more experience in the league.

When she returned from her loan the midfielder was almost immediately sent back out in 2026.

With Everton Kramžar is set to make history, as she will become the first Slovenian player to star in the WSL when she makes her debut.

“I feel so excited. I think we all worked a lot for this. I am happy to be here and start my journey.” She said. “It is nice to be the first Slovenian in the WSL. I am excited to show on the pitch what I can do now.

“I enjoyed playing in Italy but I’ve always wanted to go to England, I think it is the best league in the world. I am excited to see the level here.”

Everton play London City Lionesses this weekend and their new signing could be in line to make her debut there.

Who will Kramžar play under?

Everton’s new signing joins the club during a testing time for the team.

Brian Sorensen was at the helm when she signed however just hours after her arrival in Merseyside, Kramžar’s new manager was let go.

The news out of Everton wasn’t too much of a surprise considering the club’s poor form under their Danish boss.

Scott Phelan has been announced as interim manager for the remainder of this season.
