Everton were interested in signing Fulham attacker Harry Wilson on a free this summer but did not want to match his wage demands, according to The Times.

Everton manager David Moyes wants quality additions at the Hill Dickinson Stadium club ahead of next season after missing out on Europe last term.

Wilson fits the bill after contributing 24 Premier League goals for Fulham across the last two seasons, but the Toffees have opted against doing a deal.

Leeds United have agreed a four-year deal worth around £120,000 a week with the 29-year-old.

However, Aston Villa remain interested in the Wales international, who is out of contract this month.

Leeds will hope to make things official soon but Everton should have been willing to offer Wilson a £120,000-per-week deal too.

He ended last season with ten goals and seven assists in 36 league games after notching six goals and one assist in 25 league games in 2024-25.

The former Liverpool star brings plenty of Premier League experience to the table, and it appears his ties with the Reds could have also played a role in Everton’s decision.

The Blues have a couple of attackers on their radar, with Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong reportedly an option.

Juventus winger Edon Zhegrova is also an option, while RB Leipzig are in contact with Everton over a summer transfer deal for Thierno Barry.

The Toffees could do with some attacking changes this summer to boost their chances of securing one of the European spots next season.

They have missed out on signing Wilson for free and will now have to splash the cash on targets in the position.
