Chelsea are going to be very busy this summer, and some of the names they’re most likely to target have already been mentioned.

Our writer Simon Phillips has been speaking to his sources about the upcoming Chelsea transfer window, and has produced a list of players the Blues could target.

We’re looking primarily at a defender, a central midfielder and a left attacker slash striker. And it’s been made clear many times in briefs now that the Blues are going to primarily target experienced Premier League players.

That means a wide variety of names on the agenda.

Nine names for Chelsea fans to chew on

Phillips offers up a wave of names for us to digest:

“Dean Huijsen, Maxence Lacroix, Lewis Hall, Jan Paul van Hecke, Adam Wharton, Alex Scott, Elliot Anderson, Iliman Ndiaye, Jarrod Bowen.”

You’ll notice all of them have played in the Premier League, and all but Huijsen were there this season. These are all players we’ve seen mentioned elsewhere, and we expect to see interest around some of them intensify in the next few weeks as it becomes clear who our real targets are.

In other news…

All these players coming in, plus a lack of European games next season, means a “mass exodus” of Chelsea players next season. Nobody will object to that.

Enzo Fernandez looks likely to leave Chelsea this summer – his replacement should be a different profile to free up Cole Palmer positionally.
